Biden announces Kyiv visit as war of words continues over Ukraine
US Vice-President Joe Biden has introduced a trip to Ukraine in under five days. He’ll be one of the most high-profile American official to go to the nation because the disaster started.
The visit is aimed at demonstrating support for Ukraine because it looks a fuel crisis, uprisings in the east of pro-Russian followers and Russian troop manoeuvres along its edges.
US secretary of state John Kerry warned Moscow of further penalties when they didn’t move their troops.
Ukraine’s interim government has denounced recent problems inside the east as “a show of external aggression from Russia.”
The Russian foreign minister informed the people that any armed action by Kyiv within the east might undermine efforts at assistance, including four-way talks planned for Thursday in Geneva.
