Bali hijack alert ‘caused by drunk Virgin Australia passenger’
A hijack scare aboard a Virgin Australia trip to Bali proved to have been brought on by what of the drunken passenger, authorities said.
A 28-year-old male was arrested in the Indonesian island’s airport.
Throughout the trip from Brisbane before it had been because of property he’d apparently attempted to break into the seat of the Boeing 737 an hour or so.
There is confusion as the traveler was grabbed by team members and handcuffed him, as the pilot notified air traffic controllers of a possible hijack attempt.
An airline supervisor said the person have been drunk, as he banged around the cockpit door acting aggressively. He was apparently going alone.
Bali airport later re-opened after being shut for some hours. Virgin Australia said the pilot’s hijack alert have been a “miscommunication”.
